OIC Text: The Governor in Council on the report and recommendation of the Minister of Agriculture and Fisheries dated March 10, 2005, pursuant to

Section 3 of

Chapter 308 of the Revised Statutes of Nova Scotia, 1989, the Natural Products Marketing Act, is pleased to: (

a) appoint Rollie Hayman of R.R.#1 Belmont, Colchester County, as a member and designate him as Chair of the Nova Scotia Natural Products Marketing Council for a term of office of three years effective March 31, 2005; (

b) appoint Carol Versteeg of R.R.#1 Milford Station, Hants County, as a member of the Nova Scotia Natural Products Marketing Council, for a term of office of three years effective March 31, 2005; (

c) appoint Lester Palmer of R.R.#1 Berwick, Kings County, as a member of the Nova Scotia Natural Products Marketing Council, for a term of office of three years effective March 31, 2005; (

d) determine the rate of remuneration for carrying out duties as Chair to be $150 per day; (

e) determine the rate of remuneration for carrying out duties as a member to be $100 per day; (

f) determine that reasonable expenses necessarily incurred by the Chair and members in carrying out their duties shall be paid in accordance with Provincial Government policy; (

g) order that the Province shall defend, negotiate or settle claims or charges made against Rollie Hayman, Carol Versteeg and Lester Palmer and indemnify them from personal liability, provided that the Province is satisfied that the claim arises out of their activities in relation to their appointments and is not based on fraud or criminal activity and where the Province so defends them, the Province will be in control of the case; and (

h) determine, as a condition of their reappointment, that Rollie Hayman, Carol Versteeg and Lester Palmer shall be bound by the principles and purposes of the Corporate Code of Conduct for Civil Servants and

Chapter 4 of the Statutes of Nova Scotia, 1991, the Members and Public Employees Disclosure Act.
