An Act to Amend the Harmonized Sales Tax Act Her Majesty, by and with the advice and consent of the Legislative Assembly of New Brunswick, enacts as fol- lows: 1 Subsection 21(1) of the Harmonized Sales Tax Act,

chapter H-1.01 of the Acts of New Brunswick, 1997, is amended (

a) in paragraph (

j) by striking out the period at the end of the paragraph and substituting a semicolon; (

b) by adding after paragraph (

j) the following: (

k) providing for the rebate of the provincial portion of the tax imposed by the system of taxation under

Part IX of the Excise Tax Act (Canada) as set out in Sched- ule VIII of the Excise Tax Act (Canada), up to a maxi- mum of $1,500, that has been paid on a new hybrid electric motor vehicle, as defined by regulation, that is delivered to the purchaser or the lessee after March 31, 2006, and prescribing the basis on which the rebate is calculated and the conditions under which the rebate is made. Loi sur la taxe de vente harmonisée,

chapitre H-1.01 des Lois du Nouveau- Brunswick de 1997, est modifié par :

a) la suppression du point à la fin de l’alinéa (

j) et son remplacement par un point virgule;

b) l’adjonction après l’alinéa (

j) de ce qui suit :

k) prévoyant le remboursement, jusqu’à concurrence de 1 500 $, de la portion provinciale de la taxe prévue sous la

partie IX de la

Loi sur la taxe d’accise (Canada) telle que décrite à l’Annexe VIII de la

Loi sur la taxe d’accise (Canada), qui est acquittée à l’achat ou d’un bail d’un véhicule à moteur hybride, tel que défini par règlement, qui est livré à l’acheteur ou au locataire après le mars 2006, et prescrire le mode de calcul du remboursement et les conditions de son octroi. Entrée en vigueur La présente loi ou l’une quelconque de ses disposi- tions entre en vigueur au jour ou aux jours fixés par pro- clamation.
