Statute: Art Gallery of Nova Scotia Act

OIC Text: The Governor in Council on the report and recommendation of the Minister of Communities, Culture and Heritage dated February 23, 2012, and pursuant to

Section 5 of

Chapter 22 of the Revised Statutes of Nova Scotia, 1989, the Art Gallery of Nova Scotia Act, is pleased to: (

a) revoke the appointment of Ann Petley-Jones of Halifax Regional Municipality (Halifax), which appointment was made by Order in Council 2009-512 dated December 15, 2009, effective May 1, 2012; (

b) appoint Jeff Forbes of Halifax Regional Municipality (Hammonds Plains) and David Postill of Halifax Regional Municipality (Halifax) each for a three year term commencing May 1, 2012; and (

c) order that the Province shall defend, negotiate or settle claims or charges made against the above appointments of the Board of Governors of the Art Gallery of Nova Scotia and indemnify them from personal liability in connection with any such claims, provided, however, that the Province is satisfied that the claim arises out of their activities in relation to their appointment and is not based on fraud or criminal activity and where the Province so defends them, the Province will be in control of the case.
