At this time, the concurrent amendment to the St. John’s Urban Region Regional Plan was also approved. In general terms, the purpose of the St.

John’s Urban Region Regional Plan Amendment Number 1, 2003 is to redesignate land from Rural a nd Restricted Development to Urban Development. In general terms, the purpose of Municipal Plan Amendment Number 54, 2003 is to amend the Future Land Use Map of the Municipal Plan and the Topsail Road/ Mount Carson Avenue Area Comprehe nsive Development Scheme Plan map and text.

The amendment is to allow for a revised road and lot layout, allow for a new access onto Kenmount Road, and to rectify designation boundaries, thereby accommodating the proposed Kenmount Business Park development located north of Topsail Rd, south of Kenmount Rd, and west of Moffatt Rd.

In general terms, the purpose of Development Regulations Amendment Number 137, 2003 is to re-zone small parcels of land where required to correspond to the Plan Amendment to rectify zoning boundaries to more accurately reflect the location of property boundaries, as well as to re-zone a parcel of land from Conservation (CON) to Industrial – Light (LI). These amendments come into effect on the day that this notice is published in The Newfoundland & Labrador Gazette. Anyone who wishes to inspect a copy of these Amendments may do so at th e Mount Pearl City Hall, 3 Centennial Street during normal working hours.

The taking of polar bears is prohibited throughout Labrador except as provided for in this Order. 3. The open season for hunting polar bear in that portion of Labra- dor from Fish Cove Point in Groswater Bay to Cape Chidley shall be February 2, 2004 to June 30, 2004. 4. The bag limit is one polar bear of either sex except that female polar bears accompanied by cubs, young of the year, may not be taken. 5. Polar bears shall only be taken by shooting. 6.

Polar bears shall not be taken in a den and active dens shall not be disturbed in any way. 7. Polar bears equipped with radio transmitters or collars shall not be taken. 8.
