BILL 22 – 2001

SKILLS DEVELOPMENT AND FAIR WAGE REPEAL ACT

HER MAJESTY, by and with the advice and consent of the Legislative Assembly of the Province of British Columbia, enacts as follows:

Skills Development and Fair Wage Act

1 The Skills Development and Fair Wage Act, R.S.B.C. 1996, c. 427, is repealed.

Consequential Amendments

Drainage, Ditch and Dike Act

Section 39 (2) of the Drainage, Ditch and Dike Act, R.S.B.C. 1996, c. 102, is repealed.

Ministry of Transportation and Highways Act

Section 23 (5) of the Ministry of Transportation and Highways Act, R.S.B.C. 1996, c. 311, is repealed.

Transitional

4 Despite the repeal of the Skills Development and Fair Wage Act, that Act and the regulations under that Act continue to apply with respect to a written contract for construction, as defined in the Skills Development and Fair Wage Act, that was entered into and signed before the date on which this Act comes into force.

Commencement

5 This Act comes into force 30 days after it receives Royal Assent.
