OIC Text: The Governor in Council on the report and recommendation of the Minister of Natural Resources dated November 19, 2013, and pursuant to clauses 16(1)(

a) and 16(1)(

b) and

Section 23 of

Chapter 114 of the Revised Statutes of Nova Scotia, 1989, the Crown Lands Act , and

Section 6 of

Chapter 376 of the Revised Statutes of Nova Scotia, 1989, the Public Service Act , is pleased to authorize the Minister of Natural Resources to: (

a) issue any required leases and licences to NSP Maritime Link Incorporated, for the construction and operation of the subsea cable, which will run across the Cabot Strait between Nova Scotia and the island of Newfoundland, the approximate location and route shown outlined in bold on

Schedule “A”, attached to and forming part of the Report and Recommendation; (

b) issue any required easements to NSP Maritime Link Incorporated, for a transmission line running from Point Aconi, Cape Breton County and the Woodbine substation, Cape Breton County, the approximate route shown outlined in bold on

Schedule “B”, attached to and forming part of the Report and Recommendation; (

c) issue any required lease to NSP Maritime Link Incorporated, for the grounding station site at Big Lorraine, Cape Breton County at the approximate location shown outlined on

Schedule “C”, attached to and forming part of the Report and Recommendation; (

d) enter into an agreement with Canada and Newfoundland and Labrador regarding the management of the subsea lease and licence; and (

e) execute such documents as may be necessary to achieve the purposes of this Order.
