CHAPTER

An Act to amend The Workers’ Compensation Act, 1979 (Assented to May 11, 1983) HER MAJESTY, by and with the advice and consent of the Legislative Assembly of Saskatchewan, enacts as follows:

Short title This Act may be cited as The Workers’ Compensation Amendment Act, 1983. 1979, c. W-17.1 The Workers’ Compensation Act, 1979 is amended in the manner set forth in this Act.

Section amended Subsection 77.01(4) is amended by striking out “ the increase ” and substituting “the percentage increase”.

Section amended Subsection 84(3) is repealed and the following substituted: “

(3) The minimum amount of the monthly total of the compensation and supplements payable under subsection (1) to a surviving dependent spouse is one half of the product of: (a) 4.33; and (

b) the average weekly wage as of June in the immediately preceding year; to age 65, and thereafter the board shall pay to that spouse the amount that would have been payable to the worker with respect to whom the spouse is entitled to compensation if the worker had attained the age of 65 years”. Coming into force This Act comes into force on the day of assent but is retroactive and is deemed to have been in force on and from January 1, 1983.
