EXPLANATORY

NOTE

The

Bill enacts the Making Sexual Assault Evidence Kits

Available Act, 2022 , which requires the Minister of Health to direct

every public hospital to have at least 10 sexual assault evidence kits

available in the hospital at all times.

His

Majesty, by and with the advice and consent of the Legislative Assembly of the

Province of Ontario, enacts as follows:

Minister’s

directive

(1) The

Minister of Health shall direct every public hospital to have at least 10

sexual assault evidence kits available in the hospital at all times.

Definition

(2) In

this section,

“public

hospital” means a hospital within the meaning of the Public

Hospitals Act .

Commencement

This Act comes into force on the day it receives Royal Assent.

Short

title

The

short title of this Act is the Making Sexual Assault

Evidence Kits Available Act, 2022 .
