OIC Text: The Governor in Council on the report and recommendation of the Minister of Natural Resources dated March 4, 2025, and pursuant to clause 7(

a) of

Chapter 114 of the Revised Statutes of Nova Scotia, 1989, the Crown Lands Act , is pleased to approve the Minister of Natural Resources to: (

a) acquire an island known as Birch Island being approximately 6 hectares (16 acres) located in Mahone Bay, Lunenburg County, currently identified as PID 60232410 as shown outlined in bold on the map marked

Schedule “A” attached to and forming part of the Report and Recommendation, from Robert C. Clothier III and Christina Clothier Moses, or their executors, heirs, trustees, administrators or approved successors or assigns for the purchase price of $481,000.00 (plus HST if applicable) of which $286,000.00 will be paid by the province, $120,000.00 will be paid by the Mahone Islands Conservation Association, and $75,000.00 will be paid by the Municipality of the District of Lunenburg, subject to the condition that Robert C.

Clothier III and Christina Clothier Moses or their executors, heirs, trustees, administrators or approved successors or assigns are able to certify title to the land in a manner deemed sufficient by the Department of Justice; and (

b) execute such documents as may be necessary to achieve the purposes of this Order.
