Interpretation Act Civil Service Act

OIC Text: The Governor in Council on the report and recommendation of the Minister responsible for the Elections Act dated May 15, 2012, and pursuant to Sections 7 and 373 of

Chapter 5 of the Acts of 2011, the Elections Act, subsection 18(1) of

Chapter 235 of the Revised Statutes of Nova Scotia, 1989, the

Interpretation Act and

Section 10 of

Chapter 70 of the Revised Statutes of Nova Scotia, 1989, the Civil Service Act, is pleased, effective June 1, 2012 to: (

a) revoke the appointment of Christine McCulloch, Q.C., as Chief Electoral Officer for the Province of Nova Scotia made by Order in Council 2005-8 dated January 13, 2005; (

b) revoke the appointment of Richard Temporale as Assistant Chief Electoral Officer for the Province of Nova Scotia made by Order in Council 2008-408 dated August 6, 2008; (

c) appoint Richard Temporale as Chief Electoral Officer for a term of 10 years commencing June 1, 2012; and (

d) designate Richard Temporale as a deputy head within the meaning of the Civil Service Act.
