I, Terry Lake, Minister of Environment, order that, effective May 31, 2011, the Contaminated Sites Regulation, B.C. Reg. 375/96, is amended as set out in the attached Schedule.

Schedule

Schedule 6 of the Contaminated Sites Regulation, B.C. Reg. 375/96, is amended

(

a) in Column V of the entry for " aluminum " by striking out " 200 " and substituting " 9 500 56, 57 ",

(

b) in Column V of the entry for " iron " by striking out " 300 11 " and substituting " 6 500 56, 57 ",

(

c) in Column V of the entry for " manganese " by striking out " 50 11 ", and substituting " 550 56, 57 ",

(

d) in Column V of the entry for " MCPA " by adding " 100 ", and

(

e) by adding the following footnotes:

56 Standard is specific to protection of human health. Standard has been derived based on a toxicological reference value (TRV) protective of adults. Standard may not adequately protect other age groups.

57 Standard may not address aesthetic (organoleptic) concerns related to drinking water quality. Water treatment may be required.

Schedule 10 is amended

(

a) in Column V of the entry for " manganese " by striking out " 50 " and substituting " 550 10, 11 ",

(

b) in Column V of the entries for " MCPA (2-methyl-4-chlorophenoxyacetic acid) " and " 2-methyl-4-chlorophenoxyacetic acid (MCPA) " by striking out " 18 " and substituting " 100 ", and

(

c) by adding the following footnotes:
