CHAPTER

An Act to amend The Police Act (Assented to December 12, 1980) HER MAJESTY, by and with the advice and consent of the Legislative Assembly, enacts as follows:

Short title This Act may be cited as The Police Amendment Act, 1981. Rev. Stat. c.P-15,

section amended 2(1) Subsection 27(3) of The Police Act is repealed and the following substituted: “

(3) A board shall consist of at least three members and not more than five members appointed annually by the council. “

(3.1) The members of the board appointed pursuant to subsection (3) are to include the mayor of the municipality and: (

a) where the board consists of three members, one member of the council; or (

b) where the board consists of more than three members, two members of the council”. (2) Subsection 27(9) of The Police Act is repealed and the following substituted: “

(9) Where a board consists of three members, two members constitutes a quorum, and, where a board consists of more than three members, three members constitutes a quorum. “

(9.1) In the event of a tie vote in any proceedings of the board, the chairman, or in his absence the vice-chairman, has a casting vote”. REGINA, SASKATCHEWAN Printed by the authority of THE QUEEN’S PRINTER
