Rocky Bay Beach Designation

made under subsection 5(1) of the

Beaches Act

R.S.N.S. 1989, c. 32

O.I.C. 77-342 (April 5, 1977), N.S. Reg. 29/77

The Governor in Council on the report and recommendation of the Minister of Lands and

Forests dated the 15th day of March, A.D., 1977, pursuant to

Section 5(1) of

Chapter 6 of the

Statutes of Nova Scotia, 1975, the Beaches Preservation and Protection Act , is pleased to

designate as a beach an area of land lying landward from the mean high water mark of Rocky

Bay Beach, in the County of Richmond, Province of Nova Scotia, as shown outlined in red on

the copy of Crown Land Records Office Plan No. E-7-86, marked

Schedule “B” and described

in

Schedule “A”, both attached to and forming part of the report and recommendation.

Schedule “A”

All that certain area of land lying landward from the mean high water mark of Rocky Bay

situate at Isle Madame, in the County of Richmond, Province of Nova Scotia as shown

outlined in red on a copy of Crown Land Records Office Plan No. E-7-86, attached hereto, the

said area being more particularly described as follows:

Beginning at iron post #1 which is south eighty-five degrees twenty-six minutes thirty

seconds east, one thousand one hundred fifty-four decimal six one feet from Nova Scotia

Control Monument No. 2668;

From thence (by grid bearings based on the Nova Scotia Three Degree Transverse Mercator

Projection, Zone 4, Central Meridian sixty-one degrees thirty minutes west longitude) north

forty-two degrees seven minutes fifteen seconds west, two hundred fifty-one decimal zero

three feet to iron post #2;

Thence in a northeasterly direction following a line parallel and 200 feet from the mean high

water mark to iron post #3 which is north thirty-four degrees thirty-five minutes thirty seconds

east, nine hundred fifty-five decimal four six feet from iron post #2;

Thence north sixty-seven degrees ten minutes thirty seconds east, one hundred ten decimal

nine six feet to iron post #4;

Thence in a northeasterly direction following a line parallel and 150 feet from the mean high

water mark to a point shown as P(

l) on said plan No. E-7-86;

Thence south forty-seven degrees one minute zero seconds west, one hundred eighteen feet to

iron post #5 which is north seventy-five degrees forty-two minutes thirty seconds east, one

thousand seventy-one decimal seven eight feet from iron post #4;

Thence continuing south forty-seven degrees one minute zero seconds west, thirty-two

decimal zero feet to a point situate on the mean high water mark of Rocky Bay and shown as

P(2) on said Plan No. E-7-86;

Thence in a southwesterly direction along the mean high water mark of Rocky Bay to a point

shown as P(3) on said Plan No. E-7-86;

Thence north seventy-four degrees thirty-nine minutes zero seconds west, sixty decimal zero

feet to the place of beginning.
