Explanatory Note I. This Bill will amend

Chapter 51 of the Statutes of Alberta, 1958.

Section 3, subsection (2) presently reads:

(2) Each year, the Minister shall inform the Pr{wincial Treasurer o.f the total population figure of all municipalities as o,btained or deter mined by him for the previous year pursuant to

section 4 and the Provincial Treasurer shan pay (

a) OUit of the General Revenue Fund, and (

b) into the Municipal Assistance Fund, an amount equal to twelve dollars multiplied by the figure given him by the M1nister . 3. Commencement of Act.

BILL No. 27 of 1966

An Act to amend The Municipalities Assistance Act (Assented to , 1966) HER MAJESTY, by and with the advice and consent of the Legislative Assembly of the Province of ALberta, enacts as follows: 1. The Municipalities Assistance Act is hereby amended.

Section 3 is amended !by striking out subsection (2) and by substituting the following:

(2) Each year the Provincial Treasurer shall payout of the General Revenue Fund and into the Municipal Assist ance Fund an amount equal to one-third of the royalties collected during the immediately preceding year on pe troleum and natural gas under The Mines and Minerals Act, 1962. 3. This Act ,comes into force on the day upon which it is assented to.
