Statute: Gaelic College Foundation Act

OIC Text: The Governor in Council on the report and recommendation of the Minister of Communities, Culture and Heritage dated September 25, 2014, and pursuant to

Section 6 of

Chapter 89 of the Acts of 1980, the Gaelic College Foundation Act, is pleased to: (

a) appoint Melissa Macintosh-Young of Cape Breton Regional Municipality (Florence) and Ian McNeil of Baddeck, Victoria County, as Governors of the Gaelic College Foundation Board of Governors, each for a two year term commencing November 4, 2014; and (

b) order that the Province shall defend, negotiate or settle claims or charges made against Melissa Macintosh-Young and Ian McNeil in their capacity as Governors of the Gaelic College Foundation Board of Governors, and indemnify them from personal liability in connection with any such claims, provided, however, that the Province is satisfied that the claim arises out of their activities in relation to their appointment and is not based on fraud or criminal activity and where the Province so defends them, the Province will be in control of the case.
