OIC Text: The Governor in Council on the report and recommendation of the Minister of Agriculture dated December 12, 2007, and pursuant to
Section 7 of
Chapter 22 of the Acts of 2000, the Agricultural Marshland Conservation Act, is pleased to: (
a) reappoint Bill Biggs of Wolfville, Kings County, as member and Chair of the Agricultural Marshland Conservation Commission for a three year term commencing January 15, 2008; (
b) reappoint Stephen Logan of Amherst, Cumberland County, as a member of the Agricultural Marshland Conservation Commission for a three year term of office commencing January 15, 2008; (
c) reappoint James Bremner of Falmouth, Hants County, as a member of the Agricultural Marshland Conservation Commission for a three year term of office commencing January 15, 2008; (
d) reappoint Larry Hudson of Granville Ferry, Annapolis County, as a member of the Agricultural Marshland Conservation Commission for a three year term of office commencing January 15, 2008; (
e) appoint Doug Bacon of Amherst, Cumberland County, as a member of the Agricultural Marshland Conservation Commission for a three year term of office commencing January 15, 2008; (
f) determine the rate of remuneration to be $100 per day plus travel expenses for members and $125 per day plus travel expenses for the Chair, in accordance with government policy; (
g) order that the Province shall defend, negotiate, or settle claims or charges made against the above and indemnify them from personal liability, provided that the Province is satisfied that the claim arises out of their activities in relation to their appointment and is not based on fraud or criminal activity and where the Province so defends them, the Province will be in control of the case; and (
h) determine, as a condition of their appointment, that the members shall be bound by the principles and purposes of the Corporate Code of Conduct for Civil Servants and
Chapter 4 of the Statutes of Nova Scotia, 1991, the Members and Public Employees Disclosure Act.
