NAME AMENDMENT ACT, 2020

HER MAJESTY, by and with the advice and consent of the Legislative Assembly of the Province of British Columbia, enacts as follows:

Section 2 (2) (

a) of the Name Act, R.S.B.C. 1996, c. 328, is repealed and the following is substituted:

(

a) a change in the surname of one spouse to the surname of the other spouse or to a surname consisting of the surnames of both spouses, hyphenated or combined; .

Section 3 is amended by striking out " or " at the end of paragraph (b), by adding " , or " at the end of paragraph (

c) and by adding the following paragraph:

(

d) use a surname consisting of the surnames of both spouses, hyphenated or combined.

Commencement

3 This Act comes into force on the date of Royal Assent.
