EXPLANATORY

NOTE

This Bill would amend the Vital Statistics Act, 2009 to provide

that the registrar general appointed under the Vital Statistics Act, 2009 has the specific authority to release

information to the registrar of vital statistics or a person holding an

equivalent position in another province.

Be it enacted by

the Lieutenant-Governor and House of Assembly in Legislative Session convened,

as follows:

1. Subsection

41(2) of the Vital Statistics Act, 2009

is amended by deleting the word "or" at the end of paragraph (a), by deleting

the period at the end of paragraph (

b) and substituting a semi-colon and the

word "or" and by adding immediately after that paragraph the

following:

c) the

registrar of vital statistics or a person holding an equivalent position in

another province.
