Under the authority of the Young Offenders Act
(Canada), the Young Persons Offences Act
and the Subordinate Legislation Revision and Consolidation Act
, the Lieutenant-Governor in Council makes the following Order.
ORDER
Under the authority of subsection 24.1(1) and
section 7 of the Young Offenders Act
(Canada) and subsection 16(2) of the Young Persons Offences Act
, the Newfoundland and Labrador Youth Centre at Whitbourne is designated as a secure custody facility and a place of temporary detention within the meaning of the Young Offenders Act
(Canada) and as a facility of custody and a place of temporary detention within the meaning of the Young Persons Offences Act

Under
section 2.1 of the Young Offenders Act
(Canada) and paragraph 2(
d) of the Young Persons Offences Act
, the Administrator of the Community Corrections Services and the Administrator of the Newfoundland and Labrador Youth Centre are Provincial Directors for the purposes of administrating those Acts.

Under the authority of subsection 7(1) of the Young Offenders Act
(Canada) and
section 16 of the Young Persons Offences
Act
, the Whitbourne Youth Centre is designated as a place of temporary detention within the meaning of the Young Offenders Act
(Canada).
