Fingerprinting Regulations

made under

Section 21 of the

Change of Name Act

R.S.N.S. 1989, c. 66

Citation

1 These regulations may be cited as the Fingerprinting Regulations .

Definitions

2 In these regulations,

“Act” means the Change of Name Act .

Exemption for children under 12

3 Children who are under 12 years old are exempt from the fingerprinting requirement in the

Act.

Other prescribed authorized agencies

4 All of the following organizations are prescribed as authorized agencies for the purposes of

Section 12A of the Act:

(

a) the Canadian Corps of Commissionaires;

(

b) any police agency that is recognized by the Royal Canadian Mounted Police’s

Canadian Criminal Real Time Identification Services.

Fingerprinting process

5 A person required to be fingerprinted under

Section 12A of the Act must appear

personally at an authorized agency.
