An Act to Amend the Elections Act Her Majesty, by and with the advice and consent of the Legislative Assembly of New Brunswick, enacts as fol- lows: 1 Subsection 15(1) of the Elections Act,

chapter E-3 of the Revised Statutes, 1973, is repealed and the following is substituted: 15(1) Where a vacancy in the Legislative Assembly is certified to the Speaker of the Legislative Assembly or the Clerk of the Legislative Assembly as provided by

section of the Legislative Assembly Act , the Lieutenant- Governor in Council shall within six months from the date upon which the vacancy was so certified, direct the issue of a writ of election for the electoral district for which the vacancy occurred. 2 This Act shall be deemed to have come into force on January 1, 2006. chapitre E-3 des Lois révisées de 1973, est abrogé et son remplacé par ce qui suit : 15(1) Lorsqu’il est déclaré à l’Orateur de l’Assemblée législative ou au greffier de l’Assemblée législative, de la façon prévue à l’article de la

Loi sur l’Assemblée légis- lative, qu’il existe une vacance au sein de l’Assemblée lé- gislative, le lieutenant-gouverneur en conseil doit, dans les six mois de cette déclaration, ordonner l’émission d’un bref d’élection pour la circonscription électorale pour la- quelle la vacance s’est produite. 2 La présente loi est réputée être entrée en vigueur le er janvier 2006.
