OIC Text: The Governor in Council on the report and recommendation of the Minister of Agriculture dated June 12, 2013, and pursuant to

Section 3 of

Chapter 308 of the Revised Statutes of Nova Scotia, 1989, the Natural Products Act, is pleased to: (

a) revoke the appointment of Dave Davies as Member and Chair of the Natural Products Marketing Council, which appointment was made by Order in Council 2012-174 dated May 22, 2012; (

b) reappoint Ken Peacock, of the Halifax Regional Municipality (Dartmouth), as Member of the Nova Scotia Natural Products Marketing Council for a term of three years commencing July 2, 2013; (

c) appoint Ken Peacock, of the Halifax Regional Municipality (Dartmouth), as Chair of the Nova Scotia Natural Products Marketing Council for a term of three years commencing July 2, 2013; (

d) order that Ken Peacock be remunerated for service as Member and Chair in the amount of $150 per day, and be reimbursed for reasonable expenses necessarily incurred by Mr. Peacock as Member and Chair in carrying out duties of the Council, paid in accordance with Provincial Government policy; and (

e) order that the Province shall defend, negotiate, or settle claims or charges made against Mr. Peacock and indemnify him from personal liability, provided that the Province is satisfied that the claim arises out of activities in relation to his appointment and is not based on fraud or criminal activity and where the Province so defends him, the Province will be in control of the case.
