OIC Text: The Governor in Council on the report and recommendation of the President of the Executive Council dated April 15, 2020, and pursuant to

Section 7 of

Chapter 376 of the Revised Statutes of Nova Scotia, 1989, the Public Service Act,

Section 10 of

Chapter 70 of the Revised Statutes of Nova Scotia, 1989, the Civil Service Act, and

Section 18 of

Chapter 235 of the Revised Statutes of Nova Scotia, 1989, the

Interpretation Act, is pleased to effective May 1, 2020: (

a) revoke the appointment of Roland B. King as Associate Deputy Minister responsible for Labour Relations made by Order in Council 2018-19 dated January 30, 2018; (

b) revoke the appointment of Frances Martin as Deputy Minister of Environment made by Order in Council 2015-14 dated January 22, 2015; (

c) appoint Frances Martin as Deputy Minister without portfolio, expiring May 31, 2020; (

d) revoke the appointment of Scott Farmer as Associate Deputy Minister of Service Nova Scotia and Internal Services made by Order in Council 2019-151 dated May 30, 2019; (

e) appoint Scott Farmer as Deputy Minister of Environment; (

f) fix and determine the salary of Scott Farmer to be at such rate as may be determined by the Deputy Minister of the Office of the Premier in accordance with the Senior Officials Pay Plan as it applies to Deputy Ministers; and (

g) direct that Scott Farmer shall receive all customary benefits associated with the position of deputy head including participation in the Province of Nova Scotia Long Term Disability Plan and such other benefits as may be determined by the Deputy Minister of the Office of the Premier.
