OIC Text: The Governor in Council on the report and recommendation of the President of the Executive Council dated July 8, 2009, and pursuant to Sections 4B and 4C of
Chapter 376 of the Revised Statutes of Nova Scotia, 1989, the Public Service Act, and all other authority in her vested, is pleased to: (
a) create an office of the public service and prescribe the name of the office to be the Office of Policy and Priorities; (
b) direct that the Office of Policy and Priorities shall be presided over by the Minister of Policy and Priorities who has the supervision, direction and control of all affairs and matters relating to the office and who shall supervise the performance of the functions of the office; (
c) appoint the Honourable Darrell E. Dexter as the Minister of Policy and Priorities; (
d) direct that all affairs and matters pertaining to identification, prioritization and development of government policy issues, plans and strategies which have heretofore been assigned by or under any Act of the Legislature to Treasury and Policy Board or the Chair of Treasury and Policy Board are assigned to the Office of Policy and Priorities or the Minister of Policy and Priorities as the case may be; (
e) direct that a reference in any Act of the Legislature or in any rule, order, regulation, by-law, ordinance or proceeding, or in any document whatsoever, to an Office or Board or to the Minister, Chair or Deputy Minister of that Office or Board, the name of which has been changed by this Order or to which affairs and matters have been transferred by this Order, whether the reference is by official name or otherwise, shall with respect to any subsequent transaction, matter or thing be held and construed to be a reference to the Office or Board or to the Minister, Chair or Deputy Minister of that Office or Board to which a name has been changed or to which the affairs and matters have been transferred, as the case may be; and (
f) direct that such other officers and employees as are required for the purpose of the office may be appointed pursuant to the Civil Service Act and that Act applies to those employees.
