Statute: Public Highways Act Expropriation Act

OIC Text: The Governor in Council on the report and recommendation of the Minister of Public Works dated August 16, 2022, and pursuant to

Section 18 of

Chapter 371 of the Revised Statutes of Nova Scotia, 1989, the Public Highways Act, and pursuant to

Section 80 of

Chapter 156 of the Revised Statutes of Nova Scotia, 1989, the Expropriation Act , is pleased to: (

a) extinguish the right of the public to use that portion of the public highway, identified as Lot 20-81A, containing an area of 29,803 square feet (2.10 acres), more or less, located at or near Soldiers Cove, Richmond County, more particularly described in

Schedule "A" and shown on

Schedule "B" attached to and forming part of the Report and Recommendation; (

b) authorize the issuance of a Quit Claim deed for Lot 20-81A (being Parcel A and Lot 20-81 together) to Charlaine Farmer and Elizabeth Ann Boyd of Soldiers Cove, Richmond County, for the consideration of $894.09 plus HST of $134.11 for a total purchase price of $1,028.20; and (

c) authorize the Minister of Public Works to execute such documents as may be necessary to achieve the purpose of this Order.
