EXPLANATORY NOTE

The Bill amends the City of Hamilton Act, 1985 to add owning and operating a sports franchise to the objects of the corporation known as The Hamilton Entertainment and Convention Facilities, Inc.

An Act to amend the City of Hamilton Act, 1985

Her Majesty, by and with the advice and consent of the Legislative Assembly of the Province of Ontario, enacts as follows:

1. Subsection 3 (1) of the City of Hamilton Act, 1985 is amended by striking out "and" at the end of clause (

e) and by adding the following clause:

(e.1) to own and operate a sports franchise; and

2. This Act comes into force on the day it receives Royal Assent.

3. The

short title of this Act is the City of Hamilton Amendment Act, 1996 .
