OIC Text: The Governor in Council on the report and recommendation of the Attorney General and Minister of Justice dated October 12, 2017, and pursuant to

Section 72 of

Chapter 28 of the Acts of 2004, the Legal Profession Act , is pleased to: (

a) reappoint Robert G. MacKeigan, Q.C. of Halifax Regional Municipality (Halifax) as Chair of the Board of the Law Foundation of Nova Scotia for a term of two years commencing December 5, 2017; (

b) reappoint Estelle Theriault, Q.C. of Halifax Regional Municipality (Halifax) as a member of the Board of the Law Foundation of Nova Scotia for a term of two years commencing December 5, 2017; and (

c) order that the Province shall defend, negotiate or settle claims or charges made against Robert G. MacKeigan, Q.C., or Estelle Theriault, Q.C., and indemnify them from personal liability, provided that the Province is satisfied that the claim arises out of his or her activities in relation to his or her appointment and is not based on fraud or criminal activity and where the Province so defends, the Province will be in control of the case.
