section 21 of the Franchises Act and

of the Societies Act.

1 The Business Corporations Regulation (AR 118/2000) is

amended in

section 21

(

a) by repealing subsection (2) and substituting the

following:

(2) For the purposes of this section, "generally accepted

accounting principles" means the generally accepted accounting

principles as set out in the CPA Canada Handbook -

Accounting by the Chartered Professional Accountants of

Canada, as amended from time to time.

(

b) in subsection (3) by striking out "the Institute of

Chartered Accountants" and substituting "the Chartered

Professional Accountants of Alberta".

2 The Exemption Regulation (AR 233/98) is amended by

repealing

section 1.1(2)(a)(

i) and substituting the following:

(

i) is completed by a professional accounting firm within the

meaning of the Chartered Professional Accountants Act, and

3 The Franchises Regulation (AR 240/95) is amended by

repealing

section 3(2) and substituting the following:

(2) Financial statements must be either

(

a) audited in accordance with Canadian generally accepted

auditing standards, including the Canadian Standards on

Quality Control and the Canadian Auditing Standards as

set out in the CPA Canada Handbook published by the

Chartered Professional Accountants of Canada, as

amended from time to time, or

(

b) reviewed in accordance with Canadian generally

accepted standards for review engagements, including

the Canadian Standards on Quality Control and the

Other Canadian Standards applicable to review

engagement set out in the CPA Canada Handbook

published by the Chartered Professional Accountants of

Canada, as amended from time to time.

4 The Societies Regulation (AR 122/2000) is amended in

section 1(4) by striking out "professional accountant" and

substituting "professional accounting firm permitted to perform an

audit engagement pursuant to the Chartered Professional Accountants

Act".

Professional and Occupational Associations Registration Act

LANDSCAPE ARCHITECTS AMENDMENT REGULATION

Landscape Architects on October 5, 2015 pursuant to

section 14 of the Professional

and Occupational Associations Registration Act.

1 The Landscape Architects Regulation (AR 228/2010) is

amended by this Regulation.

Section 6 is amended

(

a) by renumbering

section 6 as

section 6(1);

(

b) by repealing subsection (1)(

b) and substituting the

following:

(

b) is registered with a professional regulatory organization

in a province or territory that is a signatory to one or

more domestic trade agreements, as defined in

section 2

of

Schedule 6 to the Government Organization Act, in

force in Alberta at the time the application is made.

(

c) by adding the following after subsection (1):

(2) Where subsection (1)(

b) applies in respect of an applicant,

the applicant's application must be dealt with in a manner

consistent with the applicable domestic trade agreements.

Section 22 is repealed.
