Margaree Harbour Beach Designation

made under subsection 5(1) of the

Beaches Act

The Governor in Council on the report and recommendation of the Minister of Lands and

Forests dated the 7th day of January, A.D., 1977, pursuant to

Section 5(1) of

Chapter 6 of the

Statutes of Nova Scotia, 1975, the Beaches Preservation and Protection Act , is pleased to

designate as a beach an area of land lying landward from the mean high watermark of Margaree

Harbour Beach, in the County of Inverness, Province of Nova Scotia, as shown outlined in red

on the copy of Crown Land Records Office Plan No. E-7-81, marked

Schedule “B” and

described in

Schedule “A”, both attached to and forming part of the report and

recommendation.

Schedule “A”

All that certain area of land lying landward from the mean high watermark of Margaree

Harbour Beach, in the County of Inverness, Province of Nova Scotia as shown outlined in red

on the copy of Crown Land Records Office Plan No. E-7-81 attached hereto and being more

particularly described as follows:

Beginning at a Crown Land Iron Post Marked No. I-1655 set at a point on the westerly

boundary line of lands now or formerly owned by David E. Munro, said iron post situate north

thirteen degrees thirteen decimal one minutes east, a distance of five thousand five hundred two

decimal ninety-six feet from Topographic Survey Monument No. 170;

From thence (by astronomic bearings) south five degrees fifty-two minutes east, seven hundred

fifty feet to a point situate in the waters of Margaree Harbour;

Thence south forty degrees thirty-three minutes west, two thousand eight hundred eighteen

decimal forty-two feet to a point situate in the waters of Margaree Harbour;

Thence north forty-nine degrees twenty-seven minutes west, one thousand three hundred

sixty-three decimal twenty-four feet to a point situate in the waters of the Gulf of St. Lawrence;

Thence north forty degrees thirty-three minutes east, three thousand six hundred forty feet to a

point situate in the waters of the Gulf of St. Lawrence;

Thence south forty-nine degrees twenty-seven minutes east, five hundred feet to Crown Land

Iron Post Marked No. I-1654 set on the westerly boundary line of lands now or formerly owned

by Mrs. Sheen;

Thence south five degrees fifty-two minutes east along the westerly boundary line of lands now

or formerly owned by Mrs. Sheen and David E. Munro four hundred forty-one decimal

seventy-one feet to the place of beginning.

Excepting and reserving from the above described area of land all the portion thereof lying

seaward from the mean high watermark.

Harbour Beach (Southwest), in the County of Inverness, as shown outlined in red on the copy

of Crown Land Records Office Plan No. E-13-15 marked

Schedule “A”, both attached to and forming part of the report and recommendation.

Schedule “A”

All that certain area of land lying landward from the mean high watermark of Margaree

Harbour Beach (Southwest), situate at Margaree Harbour, in the County of Inverness, in the

Province of Nova Scotia, as shown outlined in red on the copy of Crown Land Records Office

Plan No. E-13-15 attached hereto, the said land being more particularly described as follows:

Beginning at Crown Land Survey Marker I-2432, located 4101.08 feet on an azimuth of

92° 47' 40" from Nova Scotia Coordinate Monument No. 14187 having co-ordinates

(N 16, 877, 962.14, E. 1, 093, 721.01);

Thence 243° 02' 00", a distance of 468.70 feet to Crown Land Survey Marker I-2431;

Thence 253° 08' 30", a distance of 1094.08 feet to Crown Land Survey Marker I-2430;

Thence 278° 15' 00", a distance of 252.68 feet to Crown Land Survey Marker I-2429;

Thence 295° 45' 17", a distance of 263 feet, more or less, to a point on the mean high

watermark of Margaree Harbour Beach (southwest);

Thence in a northeasterly direction along the mean high watermark of said Beach a distance of

2600 feet, more or less to a point;

Thence 243° 02' 00", a distance of 30 feet more or less to the place of beginning.

All Azimuths and distances shown are grid derived from Nova Scotia Co-ordinate Monuments

No. 14185, 14186, 14187 and 13817, based on the Nova Scotia 3° Transverse Mercator

Projection, Zone 4, central meridian 61° 30' west, Preliminary values, August 1978, adjustment.
