OIC Text: The Governor in Council on the report and recommendation of the President of the Executive Council dated December 16, 2020, and pursuant to subsections 4B(1), (2) and (3) and Sections 7 and 84 of
Chapter 376 of the Revised Statutes of Nova Scotia, 1989, the Public Service Act, and subsection 10(1) of
Chapter 70 of the Revised Statutes of Nova Scotia, 1989, the Civil Service Act, and subsection 18(1) of
Chapter 235 of the Revised Statutes of Nova Scotia, 1989, the
Interpretation Act, is pleased, effective December 23, 2020, to: (
a) rename the Office of Social Innovation and Integrative Approaches as the Office of Citizen-Centered Approaches by amending Order in Council 2020-60 dated February 24, 2020 by: (
i) striking out "Office of Social Innovation and Integrative Approaches" and substituting "Office of Citizen-Centered Approaches" where it appears in clauses (
a) and (b); (ii) striking out "Social Innovation and Integrative Approaches" and substituting "Citizen-Centered Approaches" in clause (b); (
b) revoke the appointment of Candace Thomas, Q.C. as the Deputy Minister of the Office of Social Innovation and Integrative Approaches by amending clause (
c) of Order in Council 2020-96 dated March 30, 2020 by striking out ", and Deputy Minister of the Office of Social Innovation and Integrative Approaches"; (
c) appoint Laura Lee Langley as Deputy Minister of the Office of Citizen-Centered Approaches; (
d) appoint Dana MacKenzie as Associate Deputy Minister of the Office of Citizen-Centered Approaches; (
e) designate Dana MacKenzie as a deputy head within the meaning of the Civil Service Act; (
f) fix and determine the salary for Dana MacKenzie to be at such rate as may be determined by the Deputy Minister of the Office of the Premier in accordance with the Senior Officials Pay Plan as it applies to Associate Deputy Ministers; and (
g) direct that Dana MacKenzie shall receive all customary benefits associated with the position of deputy head including participation in the Province of Nova Scotia Long Term Disability Plan and such other benefits as may be determined by the Deputy Minister of the Office of the Premier.
