OIC Text: The Governor in Council on the report and recommendation of the Minister of Agriculture dated November 26, 2013, and pursuant to
Section 3 of
Chapter 113 of the Revised Statutes of Nova Scotia, 1989, the Crop and Livestock Insurance Act , is pleased to: (
a) reappoint Avard Bentley of Westchester, Cumberland County, as a Member and designate him as Chairman of the Nova Scotia Crop and Livestock Insurance Commission for a further three-year term commencing February 4, 2014; (
b) order that Avard Bentley be remunerated for his service as Chairman in the amount of $150.00 per day and be reimbursed for reasonable expenses incurred in fulfilling his duties provided such reimbursements do not exceed those normally paid to members of the civil service; and (
c) order that the Province shall defend, negotiate, or settle claims or charges made against Avard Bentley and indemnify him from personal liability, provided that the Province is satisfied that the claim arises out of activities in relation to his appointment and is not based on fraud or criminal activity and where the Province so defends, the Province will be in control of the case.
