Statute: Wilderness Areas Protection Act

OIC Text: The Governor in Council on the report and recommendation of the Ministers of Environment and Natural Resources dated May 9, 2012, and pursuant to subsection 11(3) of

Chapter 27 of the Acts of 1998, the Wilderness Areas Protection Act, is pleased to approve the following designations by the Minister of Environment of 23 areas of Crown land as additions to 9 existing wilderness areas, effective on and after the date that signed boundary descriptions and plans for the additional areas are deposited in the Provincial Crown Lands Record Centre, also known as the Crown Land Information Management Centre: (

a) the designation of an area of Crown land as an addition to Bonnet Lake Barrens Wilderness Area, originally designated in item 3 of

Schedule A to the Act, as set out in

Schedule "A" attached to and forming part of the Report and Recommendation; (

b) the designation of an area of Crown land as an addition to Cloud Lake Wilderness Area, originally designated in item 7 of

Schedule A to the Act, as set out in

Schedule "B" attached to and forming part of the Report and Recommendation; (

c) the designation of an area of Crown land as an addition to Lake Rossignol Wilderness Area, originally designated in item 12 of

Schedule A to the Act, as set out in

Schedule "C" attached to and forming part of the Report and Recommendation; (

d) the designation of areas of Crown land as additions to McGill Lake Wilderness Area, originally designated in item 15 of

Schedule A to the Act, as set out in

Schedule "D" attached to and forming part of the Report and Recommendation; (

e) the designation of areas of Crown land as additions to Ship Harbour Long Lake Wilderness Area, originally designated by the Governor in Council by Order in Council 2009-394 dated September 17, 2009, N.S. Reg. 281/2009, as set out in

Schedule "E" attached to and forming part of the Report and Recommendation; (

f) the designation of areas of Crown land as additions to Tangier Grand Lake Wilderness Area, originally designated in item 23 of

Schedule A to the Act, as set out in

Schedule "F" attached to and forming part of the Report and Recommendation; (

g) the designation of areas of Crown land as additions to Tidney River Wilderness Area, originally designated in item 26 of

Schedule A to the Act, as set out in

Schedule "G" attached to and forming part of the Report and Recommendation; (

h) the designation of areas of Crown land as additions to Tobeatic Wilderness Area, originally designated in item 27 of

Schedule A to the Act, as set out in

Schedule "H" attached to and forming part of the Report and Recommendation; and (

i) the designation of an area of Crown land as an addition to Waverley-Salmon River Long Lake Wilderness Area, originally designated in item 29 of

Schedule A to the Act, as set out in

Schedule "I" attached to and forming part of the Report and Recommendation.
