1989 BILL First Session, 22nd Legislature, 38 Elizabeth II THE LEGISLATIVE ASSEMBLY OF ALBERTA BILL INVESTMENT CONTRACTS REPEAL ACT THE PROVINCIAL TREASURER First Reading Second Reading „..«.„, Committee of the Whole Third Reading Royal Assent Bill BILL 18 INVESTMENT CONTRACTS REPEAL ACT (Assented to , 1989) HER MAJESTY, by and with the advice and consent of the Legislative Assembly of Alberta, enacts as follows: / 77J^ Investment Contracts Act is repealed. 2 The Deposits Regulation Act is amended in

section 2(

d) by striking out "Investment Contracts Act" and substituting "Securities Act". 3 The Mortgage Brokers Regulation Act is amended by repealing

section 2(f). 4 The Securities Act is amended in

section l(v) (

a) as to subclause (xiii) by striking out "or an issuer within the meaning of the Investment Contracts Act"; (

b) as to subclause (xiv) by striking out "other than an investment contract within the meaning of the Investment Contracts Act''. 5 The Trust Companies Act is amended (

a) by repealing

section 29(8); (

b) in

section 114(l)(

e) by striking out "investment contracts,"; (

c) by repealing

section 117(l)(d); (

d) by repealing

section 206. 6 The Trustee Act is amended by repealing

section 5(h). 7 This Act comes into force on Proclamation. Explanatory Notes This Bill will repeal

chapter I-IO of the Revised Statutes of Alberta 1980. 2 Amends

chapter D-33 of the Revised Statutes of Alberta 1980. 3 Amends

chapter M-19 of the Revised Statutes of Alberta 1980. 4 Amends

chapter S-6.1 of the Statutes of Alberta, 1981. 5 Amends

chapter T-9 of the Revised Statutes of Alberta 1980. 6 Amends

chapter T-10 of the Revised Statutes of Alberta 1980. 7 Coming into force. Explanatory Notes Title: 1989 (22nd, 1st) Bill 18, Investment Contracts Repeal Act
