Statute: Disabled Persons Commission Act

OIC Text: The Governor in Council on the report and recommendation of the Minister of Community Services dated March 21, 2014, and pursuant to Sections 4 and 5 of

Chapter 130 of the Revised Statutes of Nova Scotia, 1989, the Disabled Persons Commission Act , is pleased to: (

a) reappoint Brian P. Tapper of Halifax Regional Municipality (Halifax), as a member and designate him as Chairman of the Disabled Persons Commission for a term of two (2) years commencing on May 6, 2014; (

b) reappoint Marcellina (Marcie) Shwery-Stanley of Cape Breton Regional Municipality (Sydney), Rev. William (Bill) Crawford of Yarmouth, Yarmouth County, and H. Jane Warren of Wolfville, Kings County as members of the Disabled Persons Commission. each for a term of two (2) years commencing on May 6, 2014; (

c) appoint David Thomas MacLeod of Antigonish, Antigonish County, Shaun Clark of Halifax Regional Municipality (Dartmouth), Amy Parsons of Halifax Regional Municipality (Halifax) and Judy Heffern of Kentville, Kings County as members of the Disabled Persons Commission, each for a term of two (2) years commencing on May 6, 2014; (

d) order that Brian P. Tapper be remunerated for his service in the amount of $97.00 per meeting and be reimbursed for reasonable expenses actually incurred in fulfilling his duties as Chairman, provided such reimbursements do not exceed those normally paid to members of the civil service; and (

e) order that Marcellina (Marcie) Shwery-Stanley, William (Bill) Crawford, H. Jane Warren, David Thomas MacLeod, Shaun Clark, Amy Parsons and Judy Heffern be remunerated for their service in the amount of $48.50 per meeting and be reimbursed for reasonable expenses actually incurred in fulfilling their duties as members, provided such reimbursements do not exceed those normally paid to members of the civil service.
