Alberta — Bills

Bill No. 63 of 1951. A BILL TO AMEND THE PIPE LINE ACT. NOTE. 'This Bill amends The Pipe Line Act, being

chapter of the Revised Statutes of Alberta,

Section 2, clause (

d) is amended in order to enlarge the definition of "pipe line" to include pipe lines transporting water incidental to the drilling for or production of gas or petroleum. It is found that in the drilling of oil wells it is sometimes necessary to install a water disposal system to get rid of salt or other water which has come to the surface with the petroleum. In order to do this it may be necessary to construct pipe lines and this amendment is to enable these lines to be brought under the provisions of The Pipe Line Act. The Bill comes into force upon assent. KENNETH A.
