CHAPTER F-13.101

An Act to recognize Fetal Alcohol Syndrome Day in Saskatchewan (Assented to July 10, 2002) HER MAJESTY, by and with the advice and consent of the Legislative Assembly of Saskatchewan, enacts as follows:

Preamble

WHEREAS every day in Canada at least one child is born with fetal alcohol syndrome or fetal alcohol effects;

WHEREAS children with fetal alcohol syndrome can suffer from learning disabilities, hyperactivity, attention or memory deficits, inability to manage anger, poor judgment and have difficulties with problem solving;

WHEREAS there is no known cure for fetal alcohol syndrome; and

WHEREAS the best hope for prevention of fe tal alcohol syndrome is increased public awareness. THEREFORE HER MAJESTY, by and with the advice and consent of the Legislative Assembly of Saskatchewan, enacts as follows:

Short title This Act may be cited as The Fetal Alcohol Syndrome Awareness Day Act. Recognition of Fetal Alcohol Syndrome Day September of each year is designated as Fetal Alcohol Syndrome Awareness Day in Saskatchewan. Coming into force This Act comes into force on assent.
