OIC Text: The Governor in Council, on the report and recommendation of the Minister of Labour, Skills and Immigration dated January 23, 2024, and pursuant to Sections 3 and 6 of
Chapter 37 of the Acts of 2010, the Labour Board Act , is pleased to: (
a) appoint Troy Colburn of Halifax Regional Municipality (Halifax) as an employee representative member of the Labour Board for a term of three (3) years commencing February 13, 2024; (
b) appoint Peter Zwicker of Lunenburg, Lunenburg County, as an employee representative member of the Labour Board for a term of two (2) years commencing February 13, 2024; (
c) reappoint Tom Griffiths of Halifax Regional Municipality (Windsor Junction), Ginette Jalbert of Parrsboro, Cumberland County, and Brad Long of Antigonish, Antigonish County, as employee representative members of the Labour Board, each for a term of three (3) years commencing February 13, 2024; (
d) reappoint Larry Wark of Halifax Regional Municipality (Upper Hammonds Plains) as an employee representative member of the Labour Board for a term of two (2) years commencing February 13, 2024; (
e) appoint Buddy Lawrence of Falmouth, Hants County, as an employer representative member of the Labour Board for a term of two (2) years commencing February 13, 2024; (
f) appoint Calum MacLeod of Halifax Regional Municipality (Dartmouth) as an employer representative member of the Labour Board for a term of three (3) years commencing February 13, 2024; (
g) reappoint Robin Clark of Halifax Regional Municipality (Hammonds Plains) as an employer representative member of the Labour Board for a term of three (3) years commencing February 13, 2024; (
h) appoint Julien Matte of Halifax Regional Municipality (Head of St. Margarets Bay) as a Vice-chair of the Labour Board for a term of three (3) years commencing February 13, 2024; (
i) reappoint Augustus Richardson, K.C. of Halifax Regional Municipality (Halifax) as a Vice-chair of the Labour Board for a term of three (3) years commencing February 13, 2024; (
j) order that the remuneration for Julien Matte be fixed in the following aggregate amounts, payable for his service as a Vice-chair of the Labour Board: (
i) an annual $10,000 honorarium to be paid pro rata; (ii) $300.00 per day for each day he conducts a hearing as a Vice-chair or participates in necessary training; (iii) $150.00 per day for each day he necessarily attends to the business of the Labour Board as a Vice-chair except while conducting a hearing or participating in necessary training; (iv) reimbursement for reasonable expenses actually incurred in fulfilling his duties as a Vice-chair provided such reimbursements do not exceed those normally payable to a member of the civil service; and (
k) order that the remuneration for Augustus Richardson, K.C. be fixed in the following aggregate amounts, payable for his service as a Vice-chair of the Labour Board: (
i) an annual $15,000 honorarium to be paid pro rata; (ii) $300.00 per day for each day he conducts a hearing as a Vice-chair or participates in necessary training; (iii) $150.00 per day for each day he necessarily attends to the business of the Labour Board as a Vice-chair except while conducting a hearing or participating in necessary training; and (iv) reimbursement for reasonable expenses actually incurred in fulfilling his duties as a Vice-chair provided such reimbursements do not exceed those normally payable to a member of the civil service.
