Interpretation Act

OIC Text: The Governor in Council on the report and recommendation of the Minister of Addictions and Mental Health dated March 17, 2026, and pursuant to

Section 65 of

Chapter 42 of the Acts of 2005, the Involuntary Psychiatric Treatment Act , and

Section 18 of

Chapter 235 of the Revised Statutes of Nova Scotia, 1989, the

Interpretation Act , hereby: (

a) revokes the appointment of Ryan Clements of Queens County Melanie Petrunia of Halifax Regional Municipality as lawyer members of the Review Board, made by Order in Council 2025-248 dated September 4, 2025, effective March 31, 2026; (

b) appoints Dr. Joshua Green of Halifax Regional Municipality as a psychiatrist member of the Review Board for a term of five years commencing March 31, 2026; (

c) reappoints Dr. Lorraine Lazier of Hants County as a psychiatrist member of the Review Board for a term of five years commencing June 1, 2026; (

d) reappoints Jasmine Ghosn of Halifax Regional Municipality as a lawyer member of the Review Board for a term of three years commencing May 21, 2026; (

e) reappoints Nancy Elliott of Halifax Regional Municipality as a lawyer member of the Review Board for a term of three years commencing July 1, 2026; (

f) reappoints Kim Fleming and Martin Zwicker, both of Halifax Regional Municipality as lay members of the Review Board, both for a term of three years commencing March 31, 2026; and (

g) reappoints Larry Clement of Halifax Regional Municipality as a lay member of the Review Board for a term of three years commencing August 15, 2026.
