OIC Text: The Governor in Council on the report and recommendation of the President of the Executive Council dated April 29, 2010, and pursuant to

Section 7 of

Chapter 376 of the Revised Statutes of Nova Scotia, 1989, the Public Service Act,

Section 18 of

Chapter 235 of the Revised Statutes of Nova Scotia, 1989, the

Interpretation Act,

Section 2 of

Chapter 377 of the Revised Statutes of Nova Scotia, 1989, the Public Service Superannuation Act,

Section 10 of

Chapter 70 of the Revised Statutes of Nova Scotia, 1989, the Civil Service Act, and all authority in him vested, is pleased to, effective May 3, 2010: (

a) revoke the appointment of Peter Underwood as Deputy Minister of Natural Resources; (

b) appoint Peter Underwood as Deputy Minister without portfolio; (

c) appoint Brian Gilbert as Acting Deputy Minister of Natural Resources; (

d) designate Peter Underwood and Brian Gilbert as deputy heads within the meaning of the Civil Service Act; (

e) fix and determine the salaries of Peter Underwood and Brian Gilbert to be at such rate as may be determined by the Deputy Minister of the Office of the Premier; (

f) direct that Peter Underwood and Brian Gilbert shall receive all customary benefits associated with the position of deputy head including participation in the Province of Nova Scotia Long Term Disability Plan; and (

g) designate Peter Underwood and Brian Gilbert to be and to have been employees for the purposes of the Public Service Superannuation Act.
