OIC Text: The Governor in Council on the report and recommendation of the Minister of Agriculture and Fisheries dated December 16, 2004, pursuant to

Section 3 of

Chapter 7 of the Revised Statutes of Nova Scotia, 1989, the Agriculture and Rural Credit Act, is pleased to: (

a) appoint Leo J. Cox of RR#2 Mabou, Inverness County, as a member and Chair of the Nova Scotia Farm Loan Board for a term of office commencing January 31, 2005, and ending April 30, 2005; (

b) determine the rate of remuneration for carrying out duties as Chair to be $150 per day; (

c) determine that reasonable expenses that are necessarily incurred by the Chair in carrying out his duties shall be paid to the member in accordance with provincial government policy; and (

d) order that the Province shall defend, negotiate or settle claims or charges made against Leo J. Cox and indemnify him from personal liability, provided that the Province is satisfied that the claim arises out of his activities in relation to his appointment and is not based on fraud or criminal activity and where the Province so defends him, the Province will be in control of the case.
