An Act to Amend the Individual's Rights Protection Act Bill Mr. Payne BILL 227

AN ACT TO AMEND THE INDIVIDUAL'S RIGHTS PROTECTION ACT (Assented to , 1979) HER MAJESTY, by and with the advice and consent of the Legislative Assembly of Alberta, enacts as follows. 1. The Individual's Rights Protection Act is amended by this Act.

Section 28(

a) is repealed and the following is substituted: (a) “age” means any age of 45 years or more; 3. This Act comes into force on the day upon which it is assen ted to. Explanatory Notes 1. This Bill amends

chapter of the Statutes of Alberta 1972. 2. Amends

section 28; prevents discrimination against persons of 65 years or more on grounds of age.
