OIC Text: The Governor in Council on the report and recommendation of the President of the Executive Council dated March 27, 2008, and pursuant to

Section 7 of

Chapter 376 of the Revised Statutes of Nova Scotia, 1989, the Public Service Act,

Section 18 of

Chapter 235 of the Revised Statutes of Nova Scotia, 1989, the

Interpretation Act,

Section 2 of

Chapter 377 of the Revised Statutes of Nova Scotia, 1989, the Public Service Superannuation Act, and

Section 10 of

Chapter 70 of the Revised Statutes of Nova Scotia, 1989, the Civil Service Act, and all authority in her vested, is pleased, effective April 1, 2008, to: (

a) revoke the appointment of Nancy Vanstone as Deputy Minister of Environment and Labour; (

b) revoke the appointment of Margaret F. MacDonald as Deputy Minister of Treasury and Policy Board; (

c) appoint Nancy Vanstone as Deputy Minister of Environment; (

d) appoint Margaret F. MacDonald as Deputy Minister of Labour and Workforce Development; (

e) appoint Robert C. Fowler as Deputy Minister of Treasury and Policy Board; (

f) fix and determine the salaries of Nancy Vanstone, Margaret F. MacDonald and Robert C. Fowler to be at such rate as may be determined by Treasury and Policy Board in accordance with the Senior Officials Pay Plan; (

g) designate Nancy Vanstone, Margaret F. MacDonald and Robert C. Fowler as deputy heads within the meaning of the Civil Service Act; (

h) direct that Nancy Vanstone, Margaret F. MacDonald and Robert C. Fowler shall receive all customary benefits associated with the position of deputy head including participation in the Province of Nova Scotia Long Term Disability Plan; and (

i) designate Nancy Vanstone, Margaret F. MacDonald and Robert C. Fowler to be and to have been employees for the purposes of the Public Service Superannuation Act.
