OIC Text: The Governor in Council on the report and recommendation of the Minister of Gaelic Affairs dated May 30, 2007, and pursuant to

Section 4B of

Chapter 376 of the Revised Statutes of Nova Scotia, 1989, the Public Service Act,

Section 18 of

Chapter 235 of the Revised Statutes of Nova Scotia, 1989, the

Interpretation Act,

Section 10 of

Chapter 70 of the Revised Statutes of Nova Scotia, 1989, the Civil Service Act, and

Section 2 of

Chapter 377 of the Revised Statutes of Nova Scotia, 1989, the Public Service Superannuation Act and all other authority in him vested, is pleased to, effective June 7, 2007: (

a) revoke Order in Council 2006-524 appointing Lewis MacKinnon as Acting Chief Executive Officer of the Office of Gaelic Affairs; (

b) appoint Lewis MacKinnon as Chief Executive Officer of the Office of Gaelic Affairs; (

c) designate Lewis MacKinnon as a deputy head within the meaning of the Civil Service Act; (

d) direct that he shall receive all customary benefits associated with the position of deputy head including participation in the Province of Nova Scotia Long Term Disability Plan; (e)designate Lewis MacKinnon to be and to have been an employee for the purposes of the Public Service Superannuation Act; and (f)fix and determine the salary of Lewis MacKinnon to be paid at such rate as may be determined from time to time by the Deputy Minister of the Office of the Premier in accordance with the MCP 30 pay plan.
