Statute: Nova Scotia Film Development Corporation Act

OIC Text: The Governor in Council on the report and recommendation of the Minister of Economic Development dated October 2, 2007, and pursuant to Sections 6 and 7 of

Chapter 20 of the Acts of 1990, the Nova Scotia Film Development Corporation Act, and to

Section 18(1) of

Chapter 235 of the Revised Statutes of Nova Scotia, 1989, the

Interpretation Act, is pleased to: (

a) revoke the appointment of Debra Forsyth-Smith, of Halifax Regional Municipality, as a member of the Board of the Nova Scotia Film Development Corporation, which appointment was made by Order in Council 2005-480 dated October 27, 2005; (

b) reappoint Richard John Hebb of Bridgewater, Lunenburg County, as a member of the Board of the Nova Scotia Film Development Corporation for a term of three (3) years commencing October 30, 2007 and ending October 29, 2010; (

c) appoint Malcolm Bennett of Lower Sackville, Halifax Regional Municipality, as a member of the Board of the Nova Scotia Film Development Corporation for a term of three (3) years commencing October 30, 2007 and ending October 29, 2010; (

d) authorize the payment of $100 per day, plus reasonable expenses to the members of the Board for attending board meetings of the Nova Scotia Film Development Corporation; and (

e) order that the Province shall defend, negotiate or settle claims or charges made against the above appointees of the Board of Directors of the Nova Scotia Film Development Corporation and indemnify them from personal liability in connection with any such claim, provided, however, that the Province is satisfied that the claim arises out of their activities in relation to their appointment, and is not based on fraud or criminal activity, and where the Province so defends them, the Province will be in control of the case.
