Interpretation Act Civil Service Act

OIC Text: The Governor in Council on the report and recommendation of the Attorney General and Minister of Justice dated June 14, 2022, and pursuant to Sections 3 and 4 of

Chapter 327 of the Revised Statutes of Nova Scotia, 1989, the Ombudsman Act , and

Section 18 of

Chapter 235 of the Revised Statutes of Nova Scotia, 1989, the

Interpretation Act , and

Section 10 of

Chapter 70 of the Revised Statutes of Nova Scotia, 1989, the Civil Service Act , is pleased, effective June 30, 2022, to: (

a) revoke Order in Council 2021-50 dated February 4, 2021, appointing William Allan Smith as Ombudsman and as a deputy head; (

b) appoint Christine Brennan as Acting Ombudsman; (

c) designate Christine Brennan as a deputy head within the meaning of the Civil Service Act ; and (

d) fix and determine the acting pay of Christine Brennan to be at the rate of 10% above her existing pay rate.
