Justices of the peace will be part of the judicial appoint- ment process as candidates. 1. Les juges de paix particip ent au processus de nomination à la magistrature à titre de candidats. 2. The Committee will assess the competency of candidates and report that a candidate’s competence is either estab- lished or not established. 2. Le Comité évalue la compétence des candidats et pré- sente un rapport dans lequel il indique si la compétence du candidat a été ou non établie. 3. A candidate will be elig ible for an appointment only i f that candidate’s competence has been established within the three-year period before the candidate’s proposed appointment. Candidates can reapply to have their com- petence established again. 3.
