OIC Text: The Governor in Council on the report and recommendation of the Minister of Health dated December 8, 1998 pursuant to
Section 61 of
Chapter 208 of the Revised Statutes of Nova Scotia, 1989, as amended, the Hospitals Act, is pleased to: (
a) appoint Dr. Alistair Munro of Halifax, Halifax Regional Municipality, as a member of the Review Board for all facilities under the said Act for a term of office of three years commencing November 1, 1998 and ending October 30, 2001; (
b) reappoint Ian Tay Landry of Halifax, Halifax Regional Municipality, as a member of the Review Board for all facilities under the said Act for a term of office of two years commencing November 1, 1998 and ending October 30, 2000; (
c) reappoint Dr. Lawrence MacKinnon Buffett of Dartmouth, Halifax Regional Municipality, as a member of the Review Board for all facilities under the said Act for a term of office of three years commencing November 1, 1998 and ending November 1, 2001; (
d) reappoint Katherine Flynn of Wellington, Halifax Regional Municipality, as a member of the Review Board for all facilities under the said Act for a term of office of two years commencing November 3, 1998 and ending November 2, 2000; (
e) appoint Judith A. Patterson of Dartmouth, Halifax Regional Municipality, as a member of the Review Board for all facilities under the said Act for a term of office of two years commencing December 30, 1998 and ending December 29, 2000; and (
f) determine that the Province shall defend, negotiate or settle claims or charges made against Dr. Alastair Munro, Ian Tay Landry, Dr. Lawrence MacKinnon Buffett, Katherine Flynn and Judith A. Patterson and indemnify them from personal liability provided, however, the Province is satisfied that the claim arises out of their activities in relation to the appointment and is not based on fraud or criminal activity and provided that the Province will be in control of a case which it defends.
