OIC Text: The Governor in Council on the report and recommendation of the President of the Executive Council dated June 15, 2022, and pursuant to
Section 4 of
Chapter 376 of the Revised Statutes of Nova Scotia, 1989, the Public Service Act , is pleased, effective June 21, 2022, to: (
a) assign all affairs and matters pertaining to the Nova Scotia Film and Television Production Incentive Fund established pursuant to
Chapter 6 of the Acts of 2015, the Financial Measures
(2015) Act , to the Minister of Communities, Culture, Tourism and Heritage; (
b) assign to the Minister of Communities, Culture, Tourism and Heritage the responsibilities of the Minister under the Accountability in Economic Development Assistance Act , solely in respect of the Nova Scotia Film and Television Production Incentive Fund; (
c) assign all affairs and matters related to the assets and liabilities of the former Film and Creative Industries Nova Scotia, which became property of Nova Scotia Business Incorporated pursuant to
Chapter 6 of the Acts of 2015, the Financial Measures
(2015) Act , to the Minister of Communities, Culture, Tourism and Heritage; (
d) direct that all affairs and matters pertaining to the Nova Scotia Film and Television Production Incentive Fund and the assets and liabilities of the former Film and Creative Industries Nova Scotia, for administrative purposes, be attached to the Department of Communities, Culture, Tourism and Heritage; (
e) assign to the Minister of Service Nova Scotia and Internal Affairs the supervision, direction and control of all affairs and matters relating to: i. access to government services and programs; ii. consumer protection, including residential tenancies; iii. consumer proposals and
Part X of the Bankruptcy and Insolvency Act (Canada); iv. condominiums; v. vital statistics; vi. the Land Registry and Registry of Deeds, the Personal Property Registry, the Registry of Joint Stock Companies, the Nova Scotia Business Registry, and the Registry of Vital Statistics; vii.
Part IV of the Revenue Act for administration purposes; viii. liquor control, film licensing and classification, amusement control and gaming control; and ix. the collection of debts for departments and governmental units under programs designated by the Minister of Finance and Treasury Board; (
f) assign to the Minister of Public Works the supervision, direction and control of all affairs and matters relating to: i. environmental services for the Government of the Province; and ii. the superintendence and management of all buildings and property, including leasing and licensing activities and building maintenance and services, belonging to or under the control of the Government of the Province; and (
g) assign to the Minister of Advanced Education the supervision, direction and control of all affairs and matters relating to academic research and the Research Nova Scotia Corporation Act .
