1 Bill 211 Ms Glasgo BILL 211 2020 MUNICIPAL GOVERNMENT (FIREARMS) AMENDMENT ACT, 2020 (Assented to , 2020) HER MAJESTY, by and with the advice and consent of the Legislative Assembly of Alberta, enacts as follows: Amends RSA 2000 cM-26 1 The Municipal Government Act is amended by this Act. 2

Section 74 is repealed and the following is substituted: Firearms 74 Despite any other provision of this Act or another Act, a council may not, unless authorized by the Lieutenant Governor in Council, pass a bylaw respecting firearms. 3 This Act comes into force on Proclamation.

Explanatory Notes 1 Explanatory Notes Municipal Government Act 1 Amends

chapter M-26 of the Revised Statutes of Alberta, 2000. 2

Section 74 presently reads: 74 A bylaw of a municipal district prohibiting in all or a part of the municipal district the shooting or use of a firearm or other device that propels a projectile does not come into force until the bylaw has been approved by the Minister responsible for the Wildlife Act. 3 Coming into force.
