B.C. Reg. 279/2009 , deposited November 27, 2009, pursuant to the EMPLOYMENT AND ASSISTANCE ACT [Section 35 (2) (b)]. Order in Council 646/2009, approved and ordered November 26, 2009.

On the recommendation of the undersigned, the Lieutenant Governor, by and with the advice and consent of the Executive Council, orders that, effective December 1, 2009,

section 18 of the Employment and Assistance Regulation, B.C. Reg. 263/2002, is amended by adding the following subsection:

(4) Section 8 of the Act does not apply to the family units of applicants if, in the minister's opinion,

(

a) the applicant, due to circumstances beyond the applicant's control, has been prevented from searching for, accepting or continuing employment, and

(

b) the family unit will otherwise experience undue hardship.
